Trust Agriculture is an agricultural SBU setup primarily to maximise opportunities in the local and export agriculture sector.  The SBU does business along the export value chain from production, post-harvest process through to export marketing of value added produce. The unit also provides commercial logistical support to the sector through bulk procurement of farming inputs and packaging materials as well as farm mechanization first for its businesses and also for other industry players.

Trust Agriculture designs and implements appropriate structures as well as financing packages for the benefit of farmers and other stakeholders in the agricultural sector.

Overall, Trust Agriculture seeks to unlock value for sustainable local and regional development of export agriculture for the benefit of participant stakeholders. Priority business targets for Trust Agriculture are direct exporters/growers in the following sub-sectors:

• Fresh Produce
• Floriculture
• Citrus (and related fruit)
• Tea
• Coffee
• Sugar
• Ostriches
• Paprika
• Any other agro-exportable as the board saw fit.

During its first four-year operating period from 2001 to 2004, Trust Agriculture managed to finance close to 70% of Zimbabwe’s agriculture exporting businesses.
